As a young DJ in Belfast’s house music scene, Steve Simpson shot to fame in the mid 2000’s when signed to international record label by Hed Kandi founder Mark Doyle.
Over the next decade Steve travelled the world playing in Moscow, Dominican Republic, Istanbul, South Korea, Shanghai, Tokyo and Barcelona to name a few, with weekly residencies in mainland UK and Ibiza.
Over this time he had the opportunity to play alongside and perform with some of the world best DJs and live performers and developing a passion for throwing the best parties.
In 2009 Steve returned to his roots in Belfast and struck up a residency in the then super club El Divino Belfast were he hosted his monthly club night “Steven Simpson & the People”. A night of fun vocal led dance music along with some of the UK and Ireland’s best live percussionists, brass and saxophone. Including the world renowned Lovely Laura Sax.
Since then Steve has been synonymous for his flamboyant Bank Holiday Weekend parties, all accompanied in true style by live percussion and bass.
THE MUSIC
Although house music is his first love, Steve is well know for being diverse and is committed to reading the crowd. Being able to play an up front, main room house set, to a alternative Funk, Soul & Disco set, Steven is very diverse and will listen to the client. “The client and the crowd come first” says Steve. “Even I have guilty pleasures. If you want some 90’s tracks, that’s cool, lets just make it the best 90’s tracks! “
“The energy, the fun & the love, that’s what our parties are all about. Always make it a night to remember.”
